This blog is about my start up business, Small Batch, which was created in 2011 in response to the awesome feedback, support, and suggestion of my friends and family. Small Batch specializes in custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, tarts, and more. Customization for each client and event is what sets it apart from large bakeries and other dessert caterers. I work with clients to make sure their order will be specialized and unique to fit their event needs - because at Small Batch, every batch is special.

A little about myself:
My name is Tori and I live with my wonderful husband, Jake, in Arlington, VA. We are both originally from Richmond but didn't meet until college at Virginia Tech.
Ever since I was little I have loved watching and doing anything food related. I was one of those kids that always asked for an Easy Bake Oven every Christmas. Since my parents knew I would put myself into a sugar comma within 5 minutes of receiving it, I had to wait until I grew up to have my own real sized oven to put myself in sugar commas with.
I love cooking, baking, and creating food that myself and others can enjoy. While I'm no master chef, I have a passion for food and a drive to create new and better food ideas. I hope to share my experience with baking and starting a small business on this blog.
